Best Achievers

Welimada Central College being the sole sport school in the province of Uva has produced numbers of winners who has exhibited their talents in different kinds of  sports and games at national level as well as international level 

Under a team of qualified teachers the students of the college are privileged enough to show their colours in eighteen types of sports and games. 

Some of the achievements are as follows : 

All Island Relay Carnival 2014  

Our students have secured the following places at the above sports carnival.

Provincial Schools Athletics meet 2014

The student of the Welimada Central School won the shield for the best performance at the above meet. 

The following students made their college flag fly in the sky by making new reports at the events mentioned below.

Meanwhile M.O.Udayangani who brought so much honour to her school at many times competed at the Selection of Asian (Junior) Games, in which she made a tour to Thaipe. She participated at the relay event of 400m x 4 .





Thus while some of the students of the college have honoured their alma mater by performing their best at sports some other students performed their duty to the school by exhibiting their talents at Dancing,Music and Arts 

The college children who mould their future in an environment where religion shapes their characters, won the first place at "Uva Poson Udanaya 2014" conducted by Sirasa Media Unit united with Uva Paranagama Buddhist Society which was held at special " Sirasa Poson Kalapaya " at Uva Paranagama on 14 th June 2014. Music and the melody of the song was a creation of Mr.Palitha Mohotti, the principal of the aesthetic school in the college. The lyrics were by Ms.H.M.D.N.Herath a teacher of English in the school.
